Attendance & Punctuality at Short Heath Primary School
Attendance and Punctuality is very important at Short Heath.
We are trying very hard to improve pupil punctuality and attendance, in line with national schemes. We reward good attendance by presenting Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates during Monday assembly at different times through the year and displaying the class name for the best attendance percentages.

Pupils who achieve 100% attendance are rewarded with the opportunity to go on a special trip.
Please help us by ensuring that children arrive at school before the bell and that they attend school regularly!

If your child arrives after the bell at 08:55am it is vital that they come into school via the Main Entrance and inform Mrs. Hayes of their arrival. This is for the safety of our children as after 9:05am registers are closed and your child will have been marked absent and possibly not accounted for on the fire register.

Holidays
Time off school is not a right. In special or exceptional circumstances, headteachers can allow a pupil a small amount of time out of school. To read the Birmingham City Council leaflet click here.
'Every School Day Counts' is a leaflet outlining the effect of absence on your child's learning. Click here to download.
