The Curriculum at Short Heath Primary

The school curriculum follows that laid down by the National Curriculum Council. The main object of this curriculum is to obtain the very best from each child according to age and ability, and to provide equal opportunities for all pupils. A lot of teaching is done in sets or small groups to enable all pupils to achieve their best. All policy documents are available on request.
Modern Foreign Languages:

We have started to have themed weeks where the normal weekly timetable is abandoned and instead children's learning centres on one theme. We have had a WWII week to celebrate the school's 70th birthday and children's work, encompassing all currculum areas, covered aspects such as rationing, evacuees, the Home Front and 'Dig for Victory'. Our 'Diversity' week produced some fantastic work and much excitement through the school. The children really enjoy these themed weeks and finding them stimulating and challenging.
