At Short Heath Nursery we like to keep you up to date on the activities we get up to, allowing you to become involved in the planning and follow up to the curriculum for your child. We use the children’s ideas and interests to make the curriculum child centred and as individually tailored as we can. There is a fortnightly newsletter entitled ‘This Fortnight at Short Heath Nursery’ that gives a summary of the work we will be involved with as well as feedback on previous events and news. Attached to the newsletter there is a copy of the words for the ‘Song/Rhyme of the week’ so you can join in with your child as they sing to you at home!

The notice board in the porch is used to display information about the Nursery, for example, the menu for the week, forth coming events and activities, requests for help etc. as well as photographs and feed back about what we have been up to. Some times a picture can tell a thousand words and the children find it fun to see themselves and tell you what they have been doing. There is also a suggestion box that we encourage parents/carers to use if they wish.

As you go about the Nursery and Nursery Garden you will see much of the children’s work on display and described on the walls, fences and surfaces etc.. Please take time to wander round and explore as these displays/activities change and follow the children’s learning through the year. Equally if your child/family has been doing something that you wish to share please feel that you can bring this into Nursery and we can tell and/or show others about it.
